A peaceful and warm atmosphere enveloped the 2024 National Christmas Celebration at Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno complex in Jakarta, on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
The celebration, themed “Let Us Now Go to Bethlehem,” was attended by tens of thousands of Christians from various regions across the country. Together, they witnessed the universal spirit of Christmas—love and peace—come alive.
Adding to the significance of the event was the presence of President Prabowo Subianto, alongside cabinet members and interfaith leaders.
In his opening remarks, President Prabowo extended Christmas greetings to all Christians celebrating the occasion. He also expressed gratitude to everyone who worked tirelessly to ensure the 2024 Christmas celebration proceeded peacefully.
“Thank you to all parties from all sectors who have worked hard to make this Christmas celebration possible—carried out well, safely, orderly, and in a spirit of harmony and familial warmth,” he said, as quoted by the Presidential Secretariat’s Bureau of Press, Media, and Information.
The 2024 National Christmas Celebration is expected to bring great hope for peace and prosperity in Indonesia, as well as unity in facing future challenges.
