Educational Commitment for a Sustainable Future

Education is the primary foundation for building a brighter future, especially in remote areas of Indonesia. Mitra Cakrawala International (MCI) fully understands the challenges faced by the communities around its operations in Binuang, South Kalimantan.

Since beginning its expansion into coal mining concessions in Binuang in 2011, MCI has rapidly grown to become one of the leading mining companies in the region. However, behind this business success, MCI remains steadfast in its social responsibility, particularly in the field of education.

Some of the initiatives carried out by MCI include:

1. Scholarship Provision

MCI provides scholarships to outstanding students from underprivileged families, which not only helps alleviate the burden of education costs but also opens up opportunities for young people to achieve a better future. With adequate education, these children are expected to make positive contributions to their communities in the future.

2. School Construction

MCI is also involved in the construction of a Junior High School (JHS) in Binuang. This construction aims to increase access to education for children in remote areas, allowing them to receive proper education and pursue their dreams without having to leave their hometown.

3. Provision of Desks and Chairs

To support the teaching and learning process in existing schools, MCI also runs a program to provide desks and chairs for schools in need. This program ensures that every student has proper learning facilities to support their comfort and effectiveness in studying.

These three activities demonstrate how seriously MCI takes its social responsibility, focusing on education and improving the quality of life for the community. With high spirit and dedication, MCI will continue to strive to make meaningful contributions to the society and the surrounding environment.
