On the blessed day of January 4th and 5th, a warm and lively atmosphere filled the area of PT. Mitra Profitamas Motor, Hino dealer in Banjarmasin, located on Jalan Ahmad Yani KM 12.
This memorable moment was made possible by the participation of PT. Mitra Cakrawala International (MCI Group) in supporting the 20th Haul of KH Muhammad Zaini Abdul Ghani, also known as Abah Guru Sekumpul. The support came in the form of providing meals and rest area facilities for pilgrims passing through on their journey to Martapura.
A Public Kitchen for Pilgrims
To meet the needs of the pilgrims, MCI prepared 15 cows for consumption. On the first day, five cows were prepared, and on the second day—the peak of the event on January 5—ten more cows were prepared and processed.
The meat was cooked through the collaborative efforts of hundreds of MCI Group employees and volunteers.
These efforts resulted in 30,000 food packages, which were then distributed to thousands of pilgrims who passed through and were in need.
Chief Government Relation Officer of MCI Mining, Abdul Azis Noor, explained that the rest area was also designed to provide comfort for pilgrims before continuing their journey to the haul’s location.
“We hope that this rest area can be used for pilgrims to take a break while enjoying the meals we have prepared,” he said.
Free Health Services
In addition to providing meals and rest facilities, MCI Group also offered free health services for pilgrims.
Medical teams stationed at the rest area provided basic health checks, including blood pressure monitoring, health consultations, and light medication. These services aim to help pilgrims stay healthy and comfortable during their journey.
On January 4, 2024, approximately 5–8 pilgrims visited the health post, while on January 5, 2024, the number increased to around 25–30 visitors.
Most complaints were minor, such as headaches (10 cases) and high blood pressure (17 cases). Two pilgrims were given medication for pain relief and gastric issues.
“Alhamdulillah, there were no reports of severe complaints or serious injuries during the event. May we all be granted health and the opportunity to gather again at the next Haul of Guru Sekumpul,” said Muhammad Tegar Budiman, ERT Section Head of PT. BMBBD, who was in charge of the health post.
Moment to Unite and Share
According to Indratno Heru, Property & Building Maintenance Head of MCI Banjarmasin, the Haul was a moment to share, collaborate, strengthen ties, and get to know each other better.
“Everything was done with sincerity. This was a moment to emulate the kindness of our teacher Guru Zaini, or Abah Guru Sekumpul,” he said.
MCI Group’s support for the 20th Haul of Guru Sekumpul reflects the company’s commitment to contributing and supporting significant community events.
Through this initiative, MCI hopes to bring tangible benefits to the pilgrims who come from various regions.
Stories from the People
Although held over a short period, the event fostered a sense of compassion and unity among the volunteers.
“It was truly a pleasure to participate in this event. Seeing thousands of pilgrims come in to eat, drink, and rest before heading to Sekumpul was heartwarming. May what we do bring blessings, Aamiin,” said Hendra Prasetya, GA Staff of MCI Banjarmasin.
Meanwhile, Hana Sayyida from PT. PST shared that the event was one of the most memorable moments at the start of 2025.
Not only did it allow them to connect with peers from other companies within the MCI Group, but it also taught them the value of compassion and sharing sincerely with the Haul pilgrims.
“This activity brought so many positive impacts for everyone involved. Hopefully, we can meet again next year for another meaningful opportunity,” shared a volunteer.
Fachrizni, Land Acquisition & CSR Dept Head of PT. BMBBD, added, “This phenomenon arises from the deep love for Guru Sekumpul in South Kalimantan. Hopefully, next year the event will be even bigger and more vibrant.”
